What is CLEARING?
CLEARING is a unique quarterly magazine that serves as the journal of environmental, place-based, natural resources education in the Pacific Northwest and throughout the western US and Canada.

Published since 1978, CLEARING is known around the world as a reliable source of inspiration, teaching ideas, classrooom activities, resources, and background information for bringing innovative teaching to all grade levels and subject areas.

"Clearing is one of the prime communications and teaching tools for environmental educators in the Northwest. Each edition offers clear, concise class lessons that teachers can easily use, as well as research on making environmental education effective for students. Clearing articles have stimulated many educators to examine their work, to borrow good ideas from innovative programs in other parts of the nation, and to share their insights and experiences regionally."

-Beverly Isenson
formerly of the Washington Governor's Council on Environmental Education
